Little Johnny Went To Parliament

Tom: G
G D C D G D

[Verse]
G
Well we've all heard tales about Little Johnny,
D
Gets in trouble at school, filthy little mouth,
C D G D
He called the teacher a tool, during design and technology
G
But during science, the teacher he respected,
D
broke down his defiance with a subject unexpected,
C D G D
Of what would be, when massive chunks of ice fall in the sea

[Bridge]
C D
And Johnny comes in from school and says "Mum,

[Chorus]
G
there's a star on fire in the sky,
D
And it scares me I don't know why",
C D
Little Johnny's got tears in his eyes and his mum says,
G B G
"Calm down son, we don't want anymore of them floods in here,
B C
Remember last year when we nearly lost the house,
D
And the mouse that ran around the kitchen drowned"

[Instrumental] (x2)
G D C D G D

[Verse]
G
So look here now, Little Johnny's on a mission,
D
Down to Parliament, by his own admission,
C D G D
It's an argument he expects and he's gonna let his anger flow
G
So Johnny starts a talk to the MPs and the speaker,
D
'Bout his worries for the Earth but they're lost in the ether,
C D G D
Johnny ain't daft so he leaves and he whacks up the thermostat

[Middle9]
Bm
He locks them inside, they can hardly breathe,
G
Now Little Johnny's outside, the MPs are on fire,
C D
So Johnny gets his dad along with the rest of the fire brigade
Bm
"Aim for the windows" Little Johnny gave a cry,
G
The water flooded in and all in favour shouted aye,
C
But none of them were sailors,
D
And were scared of choppy seas and catastrophes

[Chorus]
G
There's a star on fire in the sky,

[Instrumental] (x2)
G D C D G D

[Verse]
G
So off went the water and down came the heat,
D
All the way down to an ice age degree,
C D G D
And Johnny shouted out, 'I'll turn the key if you can all agree'
G
So in comes Johnny, not so little now,
D
Back at my school, I think this is how,
C D G D
to teach us a lesson, a practical session for us all to see

[Chorus]
G
Cause there's a star on fire in the sky,

[Outro]
G D C D G D
